Colby in trouble
Jan. 24, 2005
Let no one say to me that cats do not have memory – even a conscience! I got up this morning and Colby was sitting on the couch. He was awake, but didn’t look at me. I went over and said good morning to him and he just looked away – no chirps of welcome. Hmm, odd, says I. Then I picked up the plastic (operative word - plastic) trash bag I had left in the living room the night before. (I had started gathering up the house trash to take out to the curb and got sidetracked and had left the bag there.) Well, I picked it up and it was WET – yes, he had peed on the trash bag! As I cleaned up the mess and put down the organic odor destroyer on the carpet, he just sat on the couch, guiltily. He knows he is in trouble, even though I did no yelling or screaming at him, just an exasperated sigh. I know I cannot leave plastic like that down or he can’t resist it. That and the guest bathroom tub. We have to leave the door closed all the time or he will use the tub as a litter box – for #2 also. Never the master bath, only the hall bath. Go figure. Cats – sheesh!
